What Is Life Coaching and Why Does It Feel Different?

Life coaching isn’t therapy, and it isn’t a lecture. It’s a guided conversation in a safe, relaxed environment where your child is heard, supported, and empowered to find their own way forward. Think of it as giving your teenager someone firmly in their corner: someone whose only focus is helping them thrive.

Your Child Isn’t Broken. They’re Just Figuring It Out.

If your teenager is struggling with anxiety, stress, or feeling overwhelmed, it doesn’t
mean something is fundamentally wrong, it means they’re navigating a genuinely
challenging time.

Life coaching gives them a private, judgement-free space to make
sense of what they’re going through, explore their feelings, build real coping tools,
and start feeling more confident in themselves again.

We Work Together

Whether your child is dealing with exam pressure, anxiety that seems to come from nowhere, a phobia that’s limiting their life, or a general sense of being unable to cope, coaching helps get underneath it. Together we’ll:

Happy Lifecoach
01

Identify what is driving those feelings and reactions

02

Build practical strategies tailored to your child’s personality and life

03

Strengthen their confidence so everyday challenges feel more manageable

04

Set meaningful goals and celebrate the progress they make along the way

A Safe Space,
On Their Terms

Sessions are relaxed, confidential, and entirely focused on your child. There’s no pressure, no judgement, and no one-size-fits-all approach. Just honest, supportive conversations that help them move forwards at a pace that feels right for them.

The Difference
Coaching Can Make

Many of the young people I work with arrive feeling like they’re the problem. With time and the right support, they begin to realise they have far more strength and capability than they ever gave themselves credit for. Watching that shift happen is what this work is all about and your child deserves that chance.

A Very Special Member of the Team

Research consistently shows that the presence of a trained therapy dog can have a remarkable calming effect on young people, particularly those dealing with anxiety, stress, or phobias. Animals have a wonderful and natural ability to lower stress levels, reduce feelings of overwhelm, and create an immediate sense of warmth and safety in the room. For teenagers who might feel nervous about opening up, a therapy dog can gently ease that barrier, making conversation feel far less daunting.

Simply stroking a dog has been shown to reduce cortisol (the body’s stress hormone) and boost feel-good chemicals like serotonin and oxytocin, so your child may feel more relaxed and emotionally open during their session than they might otherwise. Our therapy dog Luna is fully licensed and only introduced with the full agreement of both you and your child, so you can be confident this is always a choice, never a surprise. For many young people, it becomes one of the highlights of their session, and sometimes the thing they look forward to most.

A Note for Parents / Carers

Booking therapy for your child can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to have questions. You know your child better than anyone, and your instinct that something isn’t quite right matters a lot.

Life Coaching is not about labelling children or making a big deal out of their struggles. It’s simply about giving them a helping hand, in a safe and nurturing space, so they can get back to being brilliantly, wonderfully themselves.

If you’d like to have a chat before committing to anything, I’d love to hear from you. There’s absolutely no obligation, just a warm conversation about how I might be able to help.
